Finding Surcharges
Extended Area Surcharge
Providing service to and from less populated or accessible domestic and international areas carries higher operating costs. The extended and remote area surcharges are assessed to more accurately reflect the cost of providing service to these areas.
Fuel Surcharge
Applies to transportation charges for select UPS services and accessorial charges.
Surge Fees
Surge fees may be implemented based on regular assessments of shipping volume, available capacity and other considerations at UPS discretion.
Rates-Related Information
Surge Fee Update Beginning June 29, 2025
Beginning June 29, 2025, until further notice, Surge Fee will be revised for selected shipments. Please see above for the updated Surge Fee information.
Updates to Paper Commercial Invoice Surcharge
Effective September 21, 2025, UPS will apply a Paper Commercial Invoice Surcharge of INR 2,180.25 per shipment. This fee applies when the commercial invoice is only provided in the form of paper prior to being processed by UPS.
Implementation of International Processing Fee
Effective September 8, 2025, an International Processing Fee of INR 219 per shipment will apply to all air shipments from worldwide origins entering the United States (U.S.). This flat-rate fee applies to UPS Worldwide Express, UPS Worldwide Express Plus, UPS Worldwide Express Saver®, and UPS Worldwide Expedited services, and will be billed to the freight payor.
